As we knew, planning has become a must when you go to Disney. It is an even more important when you travel with a group as large as ours. Some people don't mind it some people really don't like how you lose the spontaneity.
So with that being said, we did our best to get Flights of Passage (FoP) Fast Passes but just couldn't get them. That meant only one thing...Rope Drop and get to the ride. So we did.
Steve, Jen, Jill, Jake, Kayla, Matty, and I got up at 545am before the resort even woke up! We grabbed two Lyfts and headed to the Animal Kingdom. We were not the only ones. It felt like the start to a running race. We listened to James Earl Jones remind us of the Lion King anniversary and the movie this summer as they opened the park for extra magic hours. We then headed over...or speed walked to FoP.
The line was in constant motion as we wound our ways around Pandora looking at the plant life and sites into the mountain where the Banshee cave is. There we experienced the "link" up and rode Flights of Passage. It is by far the closest you can feel to flying without flying! A M A Z I N G
Once done we figured...well we are here...let' hit Expedition Everest. The kids even did it a second time. Although this was fun it took its toll on Kayla. Early morning, no food, and rides can wear anyone out very very fast. We "snacked up" a bit and headed back to our room to meet up with everyone. It felt like we already did a whole day!
Saturday was to be our first visit to the Magic Kingdom as a big group. I was a little late getting to the monorail and had to catch up. But I got to see one of the 'wrapped' monorails with a design for Toy Story 4 to come out on June 21, 2019. We started to get a little rain but that didn't stop us from getting on Space Mountain! In the meantime, Michele and Papa did a tour on the People Mover!
After that we used our Fast Passes for a little jaunt on the 7 Dwarves Mine Train. This is one ride that is very detailed. Not a super thrill ride but alot of fun. It was there we think Papa lost his glasses. So right now one of the dwarves might be wearing them. At this point we had to divide and conquer. Some of us went on the Haunted Mansion and some went onto Big Thunder. Once done, we all gathered onto Pirates....argghh where we saw the new "red head' pirate that replaced the woman being sold off.
With food on our minds we went over to the Starlight Cafe. For whatever reason, there food always tastes great!! Needless to say, I was a little bumbed out that they took the BBQ Pulled Pork sandwhich off the menu! Call Disney!!
After lunch, the gang moved along and out but Joe, Papa, and I stayed back for Hall of Presidents. But somehow with the crowds as large as they were, we managed to lose Papa on his scooter! Have no fear....we found him and caught the show which had a major facelift with new media and animitronics. Well done.
That night as we prepped we had dinner reservations at the Planet Hollywood in Disney Springs. On our way in, the rain started and boy oh boy did it pour. The restaurant had a complete makeover and was a heck of alot of fun with our waiter..."Chucky". When the Frozen sing along came and the crowd started to sing you knew it was the right place for this group.
Once we finished our massive burgers, we made our way into Disney Springs for a little walk and shopping. It was the last evening with having Jordan with us so she wanted to grab souvenirs. It was also the last evening for Steve, Michele, Kayla, Matt, Jack and Emma. Can't believe these past few days flew by!
