Last Day - Heading Home

I hate making this entry.

This is the one when you sit and think about the last day.
No one likes the last day when you leave Disney.
No one.

I got up and headed outside before everyone got up.  The skies were blue and the sun was already making it hot.  So I took a walk around the Polynesian resort.  No one was out yet.  It was quiet and peaceful.

After about an hour or so, Jen, Jill, and Jake got up and we finished packing.

Jen made a reservation at Kona for breakfast where we enjoy some Tonga Toast.  It really is quite good.  Our waiter, Bob, seemed a little non-Disney like but that was all good.  The last meal for this Disney trip.  I think we only had about 500 more meals available.  LOL.

With our bags now ready for the Magical Express we took some final last looks and got on board.

As I watched the movie being played on the bus as it said farewell, I had the same thought I have had every year as we departed Disney.  When we first started coming here with my family and Steve, Michele, Joe, Dorothy, and Joe, we were coming almost every year.  That got expensive and tricky to do.  So we shifted to every 2 years.  This last break was about 3 years (2016).

So with the 2 year model in mind, I thought about Jordan, Jill, and Jake all being older (and maybe for Jordan...married).  Wow.  Disney has been the one consistent fiber in our family for over 20 years.  I really see no reason why that won't continue.

The trip, like all the trips, has its ups and downs.  It is a tiring and exhilarating trip that tests everyone but in the end it is nothing but good times.

If you are reading this, either at the end of this trip or years later, I hope this blog brings back so many good memories for you.  If anything.... it fires up that Disney spirit.

See you in 2021 for the 50th Anniversary of the Magic Kingdom.
