Day 7 - Monday: Tacos In The Rain

Jake said it best.... "it sure feels weird with not having everyone here" as we entered the parks today.  I agree but still in the spirit of where we are, we wanted to make a great day of it.

It wasn't a mad rush out the door as the days are definitely catching up with us.  I stepped out before everyone got up and headed to the lobby for a Kona coffee and work on the trip blog.  As I settled in, I watched families and friends walk by from my spot on the second floor.

Once we were up we had a quick breakfast at Cap'n Cooks in the Polynesian and headed to the Magic Kingdom where we had Fast Passes for Winnie the Pooh.  Jen, Jill, Jake and I stepped aboard the car and we headed in the 100 acre woods.

While heading over we tried to keep looking for the graduation Mouse Ears which were completely elusive this trip as we were told by a manager they were sold out 6 weeks ago.

We hopped on the People Mover and got a glimpse of the Tron Lightcycles build taking place near Space Mountain.  It is amazingly clear this place will never ever stop changing.  Once we returned we made our way down the steps onto the Carousel of Progress which Jill never saw.  This is definitely a vintage ride that everyone needs to see at least once!

From there we hit Buzz Light Year once again and racked up some points.  As we made our way across the circle in the front of the castle Jill did her trademark areal!  We then got to all see the Hall of Presidents....yes you read that right!  And all three were surprised as to what it was and how much they enjoyed it!  See that.

From there we boarded the Jungle Cruise and had by far one of the best Skippers.   He was also management but was incredibly funny and quite good (see the video).  He even recognized Jillian who he later referred to as Elizabeth.

With Citrus swirls in hand as we exited the park down Main Street, we took a final look and grabbed a photo.  I love this place.

The four of us boarded the Express Monorail over to the Ticket and Transportation Station where we rode over to EPCOT.  Jake was wanting the chicken tacos and that is what we did.  But then the clouds opened up again and luckily we had a center spot under cover right on the water and enjoyed a Mexican lunch as the park got drenched.   After taking a ride on the River de Tiempo in Mexico we rode back to the Poly.

After the storm moved through we finally had a classic June, Florida like evening.  The sun was out and you can see blue skies.  It made for some perfect pictures as we made our way one last time into EPCOT for the evening.

We arrived and had our last Club Cool refresher and walked over to Soarin.  While in line we played some of the Soarin Challenge questions on the app.  This time the smells of Soarin were pumping out pretty strong.  The first time we road it, the smells were not there.  This time...YES!

Before walking up the steps to head out to Mission Space (Test Track was shut down) we checked to see where the Dole Whip Cookie was but the lady told Jill she had no idea.  Anyhoo....we took a trip around the globe on Mission Space.  Jake and I noticed a screen with a different perspective that tracked you around the globe.  On our past flights, either you couldn't see it or it was black.  Jen just wanted to put everyone into 'hypersleep'.  LOL

Once done, Jill was able to get us Fast Passes to see Frozen for the first time (no pun intended).  I have to say, I had no idea what to expect and we all thought the scene with Elsa was quite good and it definitely caught me off gaurd going backwards (old Maelstrom tracks).

As we strolled along we captured a photo with Jill and Jake wearing the Asian hats.  I will pull up others we have had over the years.  Great stuff.

I grabbed a SchoffenHoffer bier from Germany.  The cool part was the man in front of me paid for it.  All he asked was I now do the same as someone did it for him on his last trip. Jake hung back with me and thought it was pretty cool he did that.

Jill and Jen were in Italy and grabbed a mimosa type drink.  As the sun began to set we arrived at Japan for dinner.

The hibachi at Japan is always well done and the food prepared very well.  By the end of the meal, Jill and I stepped outside to catch the end of Illuminations.  Although we missed most of it we grabbed a few photos of the World Showcase.

With most of EPCOT emptied out, we took a long slow walk and face-timed Jordan when we got to Morocco.  The evening weather was perfect and although we missed having Jordan with us, it was a great evening.

We grabbed the monorail and headed out to the Polynesian.  I have no doubt we were wiped out but still laughing.  Jake started so crazy squealing nose as the cars were completely empty!  LOL

Once back we began that horrible process of packing.  Ugh.
