Day 2 - Wednesday: Slinky Dog Dash!

The first thing that comes to mind when I hear the word FLORIDA...is Disney World.  The second thing is HOT and HUMID.  I personally like that.  That is exactly what we got today!  But first we greeted Steve, Kayla, Matty, Jack and Emma as we met them in the lobby.  They hopped on 6AM flight boarded the Magical Express and arrived.

They got to their rooms and then we made our way to Hollywood Studios... The park is still waiting for Galaxy's Edge (Star Wars) to open but we all headed to Toy Story Land as it was a first for most of us.  The downside....it has little shade.  We also got a glimpse of the Skyliners that were doing a test run.  Next time we are here they will be operating.

Jill also got her "Graduation" celebration button.  Now we just need to find the Mickey Graduation Ears!

As we walked in, the heat was already high and we walked down the street towards the Tower of Terror....one of many walks!

"If you want to torture prisoners" Jake said, "make them stand in line in the sun".   That is what we did for Slinky Dog Dash.  It is an amazingly themed area of Andy's Backyard and the Slinky Dog dash is his kit he built.  It is a great coaster!  Once we were done we made our way to lunch where Matty enjoyed his burger!  But actually....it hit the spot for us all.  We needed some food.

We then made our way over to Star Tours where we flew to the Wookie planet of Kasheek.  At that point we all decided to head on back aboard the Disney transportation.  Once back it was time to cool off in the Lava Pool.  Taking a few runs down the slide and floating was just what the doctor ordered.  When we got back Jill had a nice surprise in the room. They gave her a 'Graduation' Bag.

Once refreshed, we got dressed and ready for dinner at Citrico's at the Grand Floridian.   This is one of the finer restauarnts on property.  With an extended conversation with the host, we got our own private room where we had another amazing dinner, drinks, dessert.

Eating in this space was quite nice and the dinner did not disappoint.... well maybe for Matt...his review of the cheese selection was not to his standard.  He can easily blog on the top cheeses in Disney.  While inside the rains came down....hard but we stayed dry and fed.

Afterwards, we changed and decided to head into the Magic Kingdom for Extra Magic Hours!

Joe, Papa, and Jordan decided to hang back and sit in the lobby while the rest of us went to the park.

While the fireworks were going off for Happily Ever After we slid right into Buzz Lightyear, and walked on Space Mountain.  PERFECT! We walked right onto Buzz Light Year where we racked up some great scores!  While the crowds were still at the show we walked right onto Space Mountain and traveled fast across the stars!  This is always a classic GREAT ride.  We rode the Omega track and it actually seemed longer.

It was time to hits the autos. I have many many memories of driving these cars with a little Jordan, Jill, or Jake at my side.  Now....well....they all drive and I am the passenger.  Scarey foreshadowing.  I will say Jill's driving of these cars is well.....interesting!  LOL

As it got later, Steve and the kids headed back and Jen, Jill, Jake and  I made our way to wanting to get on Big Thunder but we couldn't use our FP.  No worries we headed to Pirates where we enjoyed the classic story and ride experience.

It was now approach midnight and we were getting worn out.  So we made our way back to the Polynesian for a good nights reset.

It was only the end of the FIRST DAY!!!!  Love it.

Late morning.
